Early Childhood Practitioners

Who We Support
We work with children who have disabilities and/or delays that are impacting on their everyday life.
NDIS: Our ECPs work with children aged up to and including 8 years of age, on the NDIS. Children can use their early intervention capacity building funds to pay for appointments.
Privately-Paying: There are no Medicare or Health Fund Rebates available for privately paying clients, but children of all ages are welcome

Clinic or Childcare
Most of the appointments are held in the Redlynch clinic, however in some cases the ECP is able to travel to the child's early education setting, such as a kindergarten or childcare centre. This is particularly important when the child's disability is impacting on their participation in that setting.
The availability of appointments outside of the clinic depends on the overall timetable of the practitioner, as extra time is needed for these and it is not always available.

What We Do
We assess your child's general development and identify their support needs. We then provide individual support to help strengthen the child's skills and improve their everyday functioning.
Areas targeted may include: communication, school readiness, academics, fine and gross motor skills, self-care skills, sensory processing, emotional regulation, attention and social skills.

Pathway to OT/SP
ECP support is valuable in its own right, which is evident in the outcomes achieved by our little ones.
It is also an appropriate support to use in the interim, while waiting for speech pathology or occupational therapy. Children being seen by our ECPs will often be prioritised for one-off assessments with our speech and OT teams, so that strategies can be provided to their ECP. They will remain on the waitlist for speech and OT if that is what they ultimately want to access.

Why See Us
We are qualified and experienced Early Childhood Teachers with additional qualifications and/or skills in specialised areas of child development.
We work closely with the clinic's speech pathologists and occupational therapists, thus have a broad range of knowledge.
We have indepth knowledge of the childcare and school systems, so can problem-solve appropriate support and inclusion strategies.
We run our Curious Crocodiles social skills program for children aged 3-5. Click on the heading above for further information. We are often planning the next group at any given time, so if you're interested, let us know.
We feel this is a very important area of development for our children and are proud of what we have achieved for our little crocodiles. The start can be challenging but the outcomes are evident and the children all enjoy themselves.
